Tell us what has been happening
We start by listening to your condition, how it has been affecting your life, what you have already tried and what you want to get back to.

Whether you're dealing with neck pain, back pain, headaches or simply feeling like your body isn't keeping up with the life you want to live, we're here to listen, understand your story and help you move forward with confidence.
Serving Redbank, Ipswich, Ripley, Ripley South, Forest Lake, Richlands and surrounding suburbs
We begin with a consultation and listen to everything you have to say. We then conduct an individual assessment tailored to your needs. If Dr Charlton feels we can help, we'll discuss your case and recommendations to help you find relief and work towards your goals.

Is this you?
It's rarely one dramatic moment. More often, it's the small everyday things that quietly start to feel harder than they should.

What used to be effortless now comes with a sharp reminder that something isn't right.

You wake up and your body needs 20 minutes just to feel like it's working again.

By mid-morning the tension has crept up your neck and settled behind your eyes.

You used to be active. Now every attempt seems to set you back further.

The physical tension drains you. By 2pm you're running on empty.

You plan your life around your pain — choosing the shorter route, skipping the trip.
You're not alone. A lot of people who come through our door have been managing these things for months — sometimes years — before they finally decide to do something about it. If any of these feel familiar, it might be worth having a conversation.
Meet the Team
I want to understand the person in front of me—not simply the problem they have come in with.
I grew up watching my father practise as a chiropractor. What stayed with me was not the treatment itself, but the relationships he built and the difference a thoughtful conversation could make.
After more than 15 years in practice, I have learned that people rarely come in simply wanting an adjustment. They come because something has started getting in the way of their life.
“What matters is what you want to get back to.”
That might be:
We begin with a detailed consultation and medical history. I take the time to listen to what has been happening and what you want to get back to. If it appears chiropractic care may be appropriate, I complete a thorough examination relevant to your presentation and goals. This helps us understand the factors that may be contributing and whether I am the right person to help. I then explain the findings and, if you choose to proceed, we discuss when and how care may begin.

What you can expect from us
Your first visit
A considered first visit starts with listening, continues with a relevant examination and ends with a clear conversation about the most appropriate next step.
We start by listening to your condition, how it has been affecting your life, what you have already tried and what you want to get back to.
If it appears we may be able to help, Dr Charlton completes an examination relevant to your presentation and goals to better understand your situation.
Once Dr Charlton understands what may be contributing and is confident he can help you work towards your goals, he explains the next step. Care may begin at your first or second visit. If another health professional is more appropriate, he will help point you in the right direction.
“I love learning more about people—what is affecting their lives, the factors that may be contributing to their condition, and helping them get back to what matters most.”
Dr Michael Charlton
Care chosen for the person in front of us
What is appropriate depends on your condition, your goals, your preferences and what makes sense for you.
Hands-on chiropractic adjustments may be used to work with relevant spinal or joint movement.
A lower-force, instrument-assisted option that may suit certain areas or preferences.
Supported traction or stretching may be included when it suits the broader picture.
A gentle, non-surgical, table-assisted approach that creates controlled stretching and decompression through the spine. Where appropriate, it may be considered to help manage lower-back or leg symptoms.
Manual soft-tissue work may be considered for areas of muscular tenderness or tension.
A structured stretching and rehabilitation method that combines assisted stretching with active muscle contraction. Where appropriate, it may support flexibility and range of motion.
A careful, age-appropriate assessment to discuss whether care may be suitable for your child.
An assessment-based approach to understanding discomfort and discussing appropriate options.
Support for movement, strength and confidence in daily activities as life changes.
Practical posture, movement and ergonomic guidance for your work, home and daily life.
Not every service is suitable for every person. Recommendations are made after an individual assessment, and a referral may be the more appropriate next step in some situations.

Over the years, we've had the privilege of caring for local families — from young children to grandparents — and watching people return to the things that matter most to them.
Based in Redbank, we also welcome people from Ipswich, Ripley, Ripley South, Forest Lake, Richlands and nearby suburbs who are looking for a thoughtful place to better understand what is going on.
Many of our patients have been with us for years. Some have referred their parents, their children, their colleagues and their friends. That kind of trust isn't something we take lightly.
We've never been a high-volume, high-turnover clinic. We're a small, focused practice that takes the time to genuinely understand each person who walks through the door.
Word of mouth has always been our most important form of marketing.
And the best way we know to earn that is simply to do a good job — one person at a time.

Chiropractic care is generally considered safe when provided by a registered chiropractor. Dr Michael Charlton is registered with AHPRA and takes a thorough, evidence-informed approach. He will always discuss the potential benefits and any relevant considerations with you before recommending any care.
This varies depending on your individual situation, goals and how your body responds. Dr Michael will give you an honest assessment and explain what he recommends.
Absolutely. Many people who visit Charlton Chiropractic have had previous experiences with chiropractic or other healthcare that didn't provide lasting relief. Dr Michael's approach is thorough and investigative — he'll take the time to understand what's been tried before and look at the bigger picture. If he doesn't think chiropractic care is the right fit for your situation, he'll tell you honestly.
Please contact the clinic directly to discuss your child's specific needs. Dr Michael will be happy to have a conversation about whether chiropractic care may be appropriate.
