What To Expect As A New Patient
Coming to a new chiropractic office can be daunting, especially if this is your first time visiting a chiropractor. We offer a complimentary consultation to first determine if we can help you with your problem.
You can call us on 3483 0485 or book online where you can book your first visit with us. You will receive an SMS reminder the day before, and an email to confirm your time, help you with directions and answer any questions you may have.
Once you arrive we will have you fill in a new patient form, this helps us gather information necessary to help you best. This form outlines current problems, and prior health history. We ask you arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time, or we can email it to you to have printed and filled in ready for your appointment time.
Step By Step Process
Step 1 – You will sit down with Dr Michael and tell us your current problems that bring you in to see us. Dr Michael will ask further questions and your health, and history to fully understand how best to help you. Our number 1 priority here is to ensure you feel heard and understood.
Step 2 – Once we have all the information about your health and Dr Michael feels we can help you; he will begin with an examination. The comprehensive examination is dependent on your case, it may include postural analysis, neurological and orthopaedic examination, chiropractic tests, structural x-ray(onsite) and spinal motion analysis.
It’s important to understand the complete picture, so Dr Michael will assess your whole spine, not just the area that hurts.
Step 3 - Once the examination is complete, either on your first or second visit, Dr Michael will sit down with you and explain his findings in detail. Here he will outline your care needed to reach your goals, explain costs and recovery times. There will be no hidden surprises with our care. He is sure to do this, in an easy way to understand.
Step 4 – Your first adjustment. After the examination and explaining what we have found, if it appears you are a candidate for chiropractic care with us, Dr Michael will provide your first adjustment. This may be on the first, or second visit.
Dr Michael will use his experience to use appropriate techniques depending on your body, your condition and body type. If you are not a candidate for chiropractic care, Dr Michael will refer you to the person who can best help achieve your goals.
Step 5 – Your subsequent visits will be adjustment visits, which are typically shorter, as we know what we need to do. At these visits, Dr Michael will carefully check your spine and adjust where needed. With regular re-examinations we track your progress, these are performed periodically.
