Frequently Asked Questions
Can you help?
Once we understand your health history, correlate your examination findings and the results you are looking for. When I am confident that I can achieve this I will let you know.
While I cannot promise any outcome, it is common that we help with musculo-skeletal conditions like neck pain, headaches, migraines, back pain, low back pain and sciatica.
Do I have to come forever?
Once you come to a Chiropractor you always have to come…Have you heard that one before? The truth is that this issue has been floating around chiropractic for decades.
Let’s face it, no one likes to feel a sense of dependency or like they are being forced into anything!
Chiropractic, just like exercise and eating well is one of those things that is best done through-out life but we understand that everyone has different goals.
We are committed to working with you to understanding what YOUR individual needs and wants are.
Do you adjust on the first visit?
Whether you are treated on the first visit or not depends on your unique case, in some instances yes, in some no. See the What To Expect page for more information.

Should I have an X-ray?
This depends on your case, in short lived more straight forward cases without trauma, or unexplained symptoms, or scoliosis or abnormal postures probably not. In cases that are more long standing and chronic, with trauma or unexplained symptoms, more than likely.
Do adjustments hurt?
No, you may find some short lived discomfort or tenderness.
Is Chiropractic Care safe?
Yes, spinal manipulation has been around for thousands of years. The most common side effect is short lived post treatment soreness.
Do I have to get my neck or back cracked?
With regards to this issue, patients at our practice often fit into one of two categories. Those that love having their spine “cracked” or “popped” and those that don’t.
If you happen to fit into the second of these categories then let me ease your mind by letting you know that there are many different and wonderfully effective ways (non-cracking) to have your spine adjusted.
We work closely with all of our patients to find an approach that is effective and comfortable to them.
Let’s take a quick look into what that “cracking” sound is. With some adjustments you may sometimes feel or hear popping or cracking sound. This is simply caused by a gas release from the joint.
Often patients not wanting your back to be “cracked” is a concern about the safety of chiropractic care. So let’s address that issue you also. In the words of the New Zealand Government’s Inquiry, chiropractic care is “remarkably safe.”
Is Chiropractic Care effective?
Yes – in a number of different musculoskeletal conditions however chiropractic is not a one size fits all and does not help everyone or every condition.
