Do adjustments hurt? No, you may find some short lived discomfort or tenderness.
Is Chiropractic Care safe?Yes, spinal manipulation has been around for thousands of years. The most common side effect is short lived post treatment soreness.
Do I have to get my neck or back cracked? With regards to this issue, patients at our practice often fit into one of two categories. Those that love having their spine “cracked” or “popped” and those that don’t.
If you happen to fit into the second of these categories then let me ease your mind by letting you know that there are many different and wonderfully effective ways (non-cracking) to have your spine adjusted. We work closely with all of our patients to find an approach that is effective and comfortable to them. Let’s take a quick look into what that “cracking” sound is. With some adjustments you may sometimes feel or hear popping or cracking sound. This is simply caused by a gas release from the joint. Often patients not wanting your back to be “cracked” is a concern about the safety of chiropractic care. So let’s address that issue you also. In the words of the New Zealand Government’s Inquiry, chiropractic care is “remarkably safe.” Is Chiropractic Care effective?Yes – in a number of different musculoskeletal conditions however chiropractic is not a one size fits all and does not help everyone or every condition.
