Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

We know starting something new can feel a little uncertain — especially when it comes to your health. That’s why we’ve put together answers to the most common questions people ask before visiting us. If you don’t see your question here, don’t worry — just ask! We’re here to help.

Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?

No referral needed — you can book straight in with us. Of course, we’re always happy to work alongside your GP or other health professionals.

What if I’m nervous about my first appointment?

That’s completely normal! At your first visit, we’ll listen carefully to your concerns, explain everything step-by-step, and only move forward when you feel comfortable.

What makes your clinic different?

We combine many years experience, with evidence based chiropractic care and a caring, family-friendly environment. Our goal isn’t just pain relief — it’s helping you get back to what you love, with confidence.

What exactly does a chiropractor do?

Think of us as mechanics and electricians for your spine and nervous system. We help restore movement, relieve pain, and improve overall function by working with your spine and nervous system.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Yes. When delivered by a qualified, registered chiropractor, care is very safe. Every adjustment is tailored to your health, age, and comfort level.

Will it hurt?

Most people feel relief after an adjustment. Occasionally you might feel a little post-adjustment soreness (similar to after exercise), but it usually fades quickly.

What’s that “cracking” sound?

It’s simply a release of gas from the joint — like opening a soft drink can. It’s not your bones and it’s not painful. Some adjustments don’t make any sound at all.

How long will it take before I feel better?

Everyone is different. Some people feel changes straight away, while others improve more gradually. Healing depends on posture, lifestyle, and the condition being treated.

How often will I need to come in?

That depends on your goals. Some people come for short-term relief, others choose ongoing care to improve posture and prevent issues from returning. We’ll discuss a plan that works best for you.

How much does it cost?

We’re upfront about fees and will explain everything before starting care. No surprises.

Is chiropractic covered by health funds, DVA, or Medicare?

Many private health funds cover chiropractic. We also accept DVA, workers comp, and EPC Medicare referrals where eligible.

Lifestyle & Family Care

Can chiropractic help with more than back pain?

Absolutely. We often help with neck pain, headaches, sciatica, posture concerns, and overall movement. Many patients also choose care to enhance performance in sport, work, and daily life.

Is chiropractic just for adults?

Nope! We care for kids, teens, adults, and seniors. Each adjustment is modified for the individual’s age and comfort.

Can I keep exercising, playing sport, or working while under care?

Usually, yes — and often it’s encouraged. We’ll guide you with safe stretches, posture tips, and exercises to support your progress.
